Batam Trip (A visit to the orphanage)

This is a trip organised by our school to help the children there. All of us were assigned to different groups. There were games groups, Craft groups, Music groups, English groups... Before going, there were briefing by our teachers...

DAY 1

We took the bus from school to Harbourfront~ We would be taking ferry to Batam (Sekupang Terminal). Actually, this is my first time taking a ferry... Shhh... We waited for instructions by the tour guide and our teachers patiently. Well, im actually feeling really excited to go for the trip! <3 p="">We checked in and boarded on to the ferry~ There were chairs and tv inside, i guess it seems like the ride on aeroplane but it is on the sea, and the boat keeps moving up and down, and up and down. Yeah, the ferry started to move. The scenery outside was picturesque, we could see the cable car, a place like jungle, and many nice nice greenery... It would be around a 45 minutes ride to reach. I had a great sleep as i was not able to sleep the last night as i couldn't contain my excitement! Finally, we had reached our destination! Just ignore the wrong date ^^

After we reached our destination ,we were fetched by the local tour guide to the bus, and we boarded the bus to Mercure Hotel. We leave our bags in the hotel room, had a quick wash up and assemble at the lobby. Again, we continued our travel on the bus. The tour guide brought us to a place where they sell dried food, so we bought some crackers for our PARTY at night! Weewhee~

Next, we proceed to Golden Prawn Restaurant for our lunch. We had a coconut drink, a real huge coconut. Mine was quite nice, but the flesh was quite hard to eat.
We also tried the local kueh lapis, which the local tour guide recommended us to buy, as it is their local delights.

Our next destination would then be the orphanage. We saw the handicraft made by the children, and i could only say that it was fabulous! Nice artwork!

The children were slightly shy at first, but they received us with lots of enthusiasm and happiness! hello childrens! They were pretty cute! We all started with our roles. I can saw that the kids really enjoyed our company and were engrossed in playing the games and everything we had prepared for them.

Not just they had fun, i guess we had fun too! Im in the art craft group, well i guess my sewing skills  and art skills is kind of terrible... hehe... so i just poke the strings through the needles for the entire whole day... My eyes were tiredddddd though.

Next, we went for dinner. The food was quite special, the rice were rolled in the leaves, which i hadn't tried it this way before. Quite nice.

Opps, i didnt take photo of the rice... :0 This are the dishes. There were lots of flies and many of us were swiping our hands to scare the flies away. In the other group, there was one person that killed the fly and it dropped into the dish. Eiii. Yucks.

There were also singing performance by the local there... After our dinner, we went back to hotel to repacked the donations for the orphanges and then had our PARTY! My friend was a great singer, and they started singing in the room! They were all K-POP fans, and sang nice korean songs! We had our PARTY and then slept, awaiting for the next day~

DAY 2

In the second day, we are going to spend almost the whole day at the orphanage. There would also be games carnival for them. I guess the second day is less fruitful for me... Before the games carnival, we had the same things we did yesterday, the sewing of the art works, into keychains and so on... The children were really great aat it and was even better than me, i could say.
After that, we had lunch with them. We had the same packet food as the children. It was not as nice as what we normally had, so i say we need to treasure food!

After lunch,  I took out my camera to take photos with the children, and took a lot of photos! I actually lend my camera and he helped me to take photos of his friends! Artpiece of a children -->

All of the childrens were really talented! Some were great in dancing (Hiphop, singing, band, music, craft) and they learned it on their own. Woah!

After that, the games carnival started. I really didnt do anything for the games carnival, and was just staring into space for almost 3 hours! Tsk...
This are the prizes for the childrens that we had prepared for them. They had to play games and change for the prizes. Hope that they had fun! Though i didnt do much...

The prizes was given out totally at the end. It was also a sign that we got to leave. We took group photos together. I had made one good friend (the children) and i had to leave. I had the feeling that my heart is down, and its a weird feeling, just up and down and a tinge of sadness. I don't want to express myself to cry. I couldn't. I really want to stay longer with her. I gave her a hug. I would really miss her. And i took photo with her again. Really would miss her. We bought some of their handicraft as the donations, and we boarded the bus.

Our next destination would then be Nagoya shopping centre. SHOPPPING! My favourite!
However, things does not go smoothly as expected. I got no time to shop. My stomach had a weird feeling, and im feeling nauseous. Sadly, i went to the toilet to vomit all that i ate... Eikkk. Disgusting. I knew myself, i cant continue shopping anymore. My body does not give in to me. Luckily, i had a really nice friend that accompanied me, and did not go shopping. I feel really bad about it... :'( Im sorry... I vomited a lot of times... Hais... Everything goes in comes out. Then, we told the teacher about my condition, and she gave me medication. Im am those type that does not like to express myself, shy and don't like to trouble people, so i always distance myself with people. So, i didn't really talk much... At night, my condition was worse, FEVER, NASEOUS, VOMIT, HEADACHE, ouch!!!!!! I hate that feeling. Luckily, im fortunate to have such great friends who took great care of me, and one whom almost cried when she saw my condition. THANK YOU! And also the others whom showed concern and care to me.

DAY3

NExt morning, i still had the same condition but feeling slightly better... I had to eat breakfast, but i felt very full though, and as expected i vomited... Tskkk... I slept again, and its time to check out. We went to the other orphanage by the second group and joined them for a while The childrens were much active, slightly rowdy, and hyper, noisy... Children are still childrens~ We went to tour around the orphange, then we went for lunch at Harbour Bay Seafood Restaurant.

We had gonggong, which the the seashell like food. Quite unique yeah~ It tasted like plain, tasteless chewy squid. :)

After lunch, it's about time to go home. We went to the terminal to take the ferry back to Singapore!

HOME SWEET HOME~
